This is the best result in the career of the young Pole, who was very happy with Saturday’s performance – “I wanted to land the first trick to have a chance to try the dub 1080 two times. I wasn’t 100% sure about the switch backside 9 with melon grab but in the end, everything went according to plan. I’m most pleased with the double, because in the second attempt I managed to land it perfectly.”
The winner of Friday’s qualis Artiz Lopez Sousa from Spain was third among snowboarders.
In the freeski competition Joel Liimatainen from Finland make a clear statement by winning both in qualifications and finals. Second was Sorokin from Estonia and third Vincent Veile from Germany.
“I’m really happy, as today in the morning I has some stomachache and I wasn’t even sure if I was going to start. I started with a more difficult trick, a switch double bring back 720, which I haven’t had a chance to do too many times this season. Then I did a bring back double 900. So in the end end everything went according to plan.” – said Liimatainen.
