Liimatainen, Sousa and Dutu best in qualifications

Qualification of the FIS Europa Cup ski and snowboard Big Air competition took place today in Białka Tatrzańska. Athletes from Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Polish, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine had two jumps, of which the better one was taken into account in the final classification.

Among snowboarders, Spaniard Artiz Lopez Sousa advanced to Saturday’s final in first place. Belgium’s Joewen Frijns was second, and Croatia’s Tino Stojak, who triumphed in Białka Tatrzańska in 2019, was third. The best among the Poles, Jan Jaromin, was 6th in the qualifications.

The women competition on the first day was dominated by the representatives of the Netherlands. Katja Dutu was first, Romy Van Vreden second and Sam Van Lieshout third.

Among skiers the best result of the day was achieved by the Finn Joel Liimatainen. Second place went to Vincent Veile from Germany. The best of the Poles that day, Stanisław Solik, lost only 2 points to the third Stefan Sorokin from Estonia.
